The main goal of the system is collecting consumption, diagnostic, and status data from electrical, gas or water meter devices and transferring that data to a central database mostly based on SCADA for billing, troubleshooting, trending, comparing and analyzing. This technology mainly saves utility providers the expense of periodic trips to each physical location to read a meter. Another advantage is that billing can be based on near real-time consumption rather than on estimates based on past or predicted consumption. This timely information coupled with analysis can help both utility providers and customers’ better control the use and production of electric energy, gas usage, or water consumption.
In such residential buildings most of users must have determination on consumption mostly in electricity, the system can remotely and from management determine the threshold of consumption and cut off the power accordingly, send alarms for high consumption, make estimation to reduce the energy at the high top peak over the day and reporting the management for real time data over Email, GPRS or online monitoring from central computer.
